If you are going to participate in the half marathon or 10 mile walk you will need good shoes and shoes that fit your feet. The closest running store to Modesto is Fleet Feet in Stockton. The advantage of going to a store that specializes in running is they know how to evaluate a persons foot and determine which shoe is best for you. While you are there be sure to buy running socks to go with your new shoes.
