Hi, my name is Cruz Flora and I am 5. I’m doing the obstacle course to raise money for kids who don’t have moms and dads. I hope this helps them. Thank you for your support.

Race Day for an event is the exciting and lots of times, hard, climax. When you have finished, it’s a medal and feeling of achievement. How can you add more to this? By competing for your event for a worthy cause. Thus, Lord willing, I am completing the Monterey Bay Half Marathon on November 12, and supporting an amazing ministry that hits close to home. I was born in India and adopted when I was 8 months old. I have 6 siblings, 3 of which are international adoptions like mine, and I couldn’t imagine life without them. I often forget and take for granted the miracle adoption is, and all the lives it changes. God’s Grace Adoption Ministry (GGAM) is a non-profit organization that helps Christian families with the financial side of adoption via matching grants. Athletes for Adoption (AFA) is God’s Grace’s athletic fundraising team.
What can you do?
“Victory or loss can be determined by prayer”
Please pray for the athlete’s perseverance and safety, and that we may show Jesus to others.
For orphans, adoptive families, and those who consider, and do, give up babies for adoption.
My goal is 1,000 dollars, and all donations are 100% used for GGAM and tax deductible. $1,000 is a lot, but what about 100 people donating just $10? Or being a business sponsor?* Done and goal met. Thank for your time, and God bless you. To God be the Glory.

God has blessed me with a wonderful life & family, the Beast in Big Bear will be the biggest physical challenge I have ever done and I felt in my heart what a better way to complete this race but to help raise money in honor of defending the fatherless.

There’s really two things you should know about me with regards to me asking you for money.
1) I had a really good time doing my first Spartan and it destroyed me physically. I swore I would never do another one and had a terrible attitude about it. I wasn’t prepared for the uphill (literally) battle and my competitive nature got the best of me. Since I couldn’t crush the race I had a bad attitude about it. I’m not overly proud about that….but that’s the way I was. Now I am challenging myself to complete the Spartan in Diablo Grande with a great attitude (regardless of how good or bad it goes) and raise some money for a cause I truly believe in.
2) My wife and I have talked about adoption and how we’d love to be a part of it since before we were even married. Since then we’ve had two beautiful biological daughters. We thought our family was complete. At some point after our kids were born we felt adoption was something we were called to do. That being said we signed up for adoption classes and started the process. Somewhere along the way God put a halt to our plans. While we still have a passion for adoption and feel that at some point we will welcome another child into our home now is not the time.
So, here it is. I’ve signed up for a race I said I’d never do again and asking you to help a good cause through my pain, lol. There are so many children out there who need a safe and loving environment to grow, thrive and call a family.
